Since being founded in 2004, Momentum has developed three assets — M1, M2, M3 and M4. These assets represent a broad range of greenfield projects as well as acquisitions and represent some of the most prolific natural gas producing basins in the country, including the Barnett Shale, Haynesville Shale, Piceance Basin, Powder River Basin and the Marcellus Shale.

M1 — formed in 2004

The M1 Midstream assets consisted of three gathering systems totaling more than 1,500 miles of pipeline and 180 MMcf/d of cryogenic processing. The three systems served different geographic regions, including the Powder River Basin of Wyoming, the Piceance Basin of Colorado and the Barnett Shale of North Texas. M1 sold to DCP Midstream in 2007.

M2 — formed in 2007

The M2 Midstream assets served the Haynesville Shale and Cotton Valley producers of North Louisiana and East Texas. The M2 assets consisted of two natural gas gathering systems totaling 350 miles of pipe, five dewpoint control plants and three CO2 treating facilities. The assets were purchased by Enterprise Products in 2010.

The M3 Midstream assets were located in the southwestern core of the Marcellus Shale. The system included 180 miles of large-diameter gathering pipelines, with centralized compression and dehydration facilities. The M3 assets were sold to DTE Energy in 2016.

The M4 Midstream assets were located in the core of the wet gas and condensate fairway of the Eastern Ohio Utica Shale. The M4 assets consisted of gathering, processing, fractionation, condensate stabilization, storage and rail / truck facilities. The assets were purchased by Williams in 2019.
